Abee Rugs Joining Türkiye 101st Anniversary Republic Day Celebration

The Turkish Embassy in Malaysia hosted a memorable reception on Tuesday evening (29th October 2024), celebrating the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.

Around 600 distinguished guests attended, including diplomats, government officials, and members of the Turkish diaspora. The event beautifully highlighted Turkish culture, featuring vibrant displays of traditional music, culinary delights, and exquisite desserts.

In his remarks, Turkish Ambassador Emir Salim Yuksel reflected on Türkiye's influential role on the global stage and emphasized the deep-rooted, strategic partnership with Malaysia. This year, Türkiye and Malaysia mark 60 years of diplomatic ties, a bond reaffirmed by the recent conversation between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in June.

Guests were captivated by the art of Turkish calligraphy. The evening’s Guest of Honour was Defence Minister Datuk Seri Haji Mohamed Khalid Nordin, joined by other esteemed attendees, including Her Majesty Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.

Throughout the evening, guests relished the warmth and camaraderie that filled the air. With every experience from the mesmerizing music to the delectable flavors, attendees were left with lasting impressions of Türkiye’s rich heritage and the cherished bond between Türkiye and Malaysia.
