Abee Rugs is honored to sponsor elegant Persian carpets that enhance the luxurious ambiance of the CIMB Artober Art & Soul 2024 fashion show, held at Hall 1, MITEC Kuala Lumpur from 24 to 27 October, 2024. This prestigious event will be launched by KDYMM Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, accompanied by DYAM Raja Di Hilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah. The occasion is welcome by Tan Sri Mohd Nasir Ahmad, Group Chairman of CIMB, and En. Ahmad Shahriman Mohd Sharif, Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Islamic.

The event proudly features a remarkable showcase of over 1,000 captivating artworks by more than 100 talented artists presented by 20 leading local galleries, including Taksu, Sareng, Segaris, and others. Additionally, visitors can view 30 seminal works that represent a unique collection from Malaysia’s first-generation contemporary artists, dedicated to preserving and celebrating the nation’s rich artistic heritage.

In his welcoming speech, Tan Sri Mohd Nasir Ahmad shared, “CIMB Artober Art & Soul has proven to be a significant driver for the Malaysian art ecosystem, generating over RM15 million to date and positively impacting at least 200 artists since its inception. This art fair has garnered greater support, a wider audience, and an even stronger following. We hope Artober will continue empowering local artists and designers by boosting economic growth.”

A highlight of the fashion show was Royal Sembilan’s ‘Bungolado’ collection, a unique line of songket pieces crafted by inmates at Penjara Marang through a dedicated prison rehabilitation program. This initiative not only showcases traditional craftsmanship but also supports meaningful societal reintegration.

The fashion show also presented more than 30 collections inspired by traditional Malaysian brocade designs, brought to life by five local designers, including Pasir Gudang Community College. Each piece celebrates Malaysia’s rich textile heritage with a modern touch.

Adding to the evening’s allure, the show featured orchestral music and live performances by Nurul, also known as Sharifah Nurilmuhayati Syed Hussain, CIMB’s Rising Star ASEAN champion, whose voice added an enchanting atmosphere.

On the second day, an insightful discussion titled The Creative & The Economy, moderated by Dato' Tiffanie Marie Lim from Limkokwing University, explored the strong connection between art and its economic impact.

The third day featured another showcase of New Malaysian Art by Nik M Shazmie, Shafiq Nordin, and Anniketyni Madian, along with an engaging talk led by Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar. The session emphasized how art continues to shape culture and national identity, leaving the audience inspired.

During the event, Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz honored us with his presence, immersing himself in the vibrant displays and interactions that celebrated Malaysian art and culture. His visit underscored the event's significance in fostering the creative economy and supporting local talent.

The evening featured an exclusive fashion show by Malaysia’s celebrated designer, Radzuan Radziwill. Known for his exquisite craftsmanship, Radzuan unveiled a stunning collection that captivated the audience, seamlessly blending artistry with elegance on the runway.

Among the distinguished attendees were Mr. Naseer, Madam Abeeda, and the CIMB team, accompanied by esteemed guests, all gathered to celebrate the artistic synergy and creative vision of the event.
